Lintel Raised by St.Féichín’s Prayers
In another miraculous Wonder of Fore lies St. Féichín’s church. St.Féichín founded the first foundations of Fore Abbey and was responsible for many of the Wonders in Fore. It’s here in St. Féichín’s church that the stone lintel over the doorway of the church was seemingly raised by the power of the Saint’s faith!
It is said that in the construction of this church, workmen faced a great difficulty to raise this large stone. However, when they had returned to the church one day and to their surprise, the lintel had been raised and placed above the doorway. As the story goes, the strength of St.Féichín’s sacred devotion had prevailed and through his prayers the stone was placed!
