Discover Our Story
Fore Craft Distillery was founded by Oliver Guirke in 2021 & nestles in the shadow of the renowned Fore Abbey. Oliver is a native Meath man who discovered his love for distilling whilst living abroad in the U.S. Oliver envisioned bringing the distilling processes he learned about in Kentucky and other American States back to his home turf and fusing those with the wild Irish countryside. When the site that is now Fore Distillery became available, Oliver knew he had found the perfect place. Right at the edge of the Fore Valley Oliver established Fore Distillery and found even more inspiration for his vision.

On August 7th, I was on a Tour of the Boyne Valley including the Hill of Tara with Loughcrew, Trim Castle and a visit to Fore Valley Distillery and lunch at the Barrel and Bean Cafe. I enjoyed lunch and the staff were very friendly. Following the tasty lunch, we had a very interesting and amusing tour of the Distillery by Oliver, the Owner, where we learned a bit about Hurling along with the art of making his liquors. I myself bought a bottle of their Golden Irish Rum. I would've been very happy to buy a couple of others. Their liquor made from nettle, for example, was fascinatingly aromatic.Posted on Andrew BounitchTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. For the first time I visited the Barrel & Bean Cafe today, to say I was impressed would be an understatement. Everything from our warm greeting at the door to the wonderful paintings of local history on the walls of the seating area to views of the surrounding countryside and Loch Bán gave it a familiar homely feel. The attention to detail was brilliant with books on local history to flowers neatly arranged on each table. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Overall I was delighted with every aspect and would recommend to anyone seeking something a little different from the norm.Posted on NatTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a fantastic time at fore distillery, we arrived and had a chai latte outside while a local man serenaded us with his ukulele. We then had a look in the shop and the worker allowed us to sample some of the drink for sale, we got two types and were very happy. Super friendly people working there and nice hidden gem 😊
